Rob Bilott, an environmental lawyer, began his long fight against PFAS contamination in 1999, taking on a case involving DuPont’s contamination of Wilbur Tennant’s farm in West Virginia, where cows were dying mysteriously. Since then, thousands of lawsuits have been filed against PFAS manufacturers like DuPont, Chemours, and 3M, resulting in billions in settlements. These “forever chemicals,” found in numerous consumer products, are linked to serious health risks, including cancer. The litigation is massive, with the potential to surpass even the historic Big Tobacco settlement.
